| Hey everyone, just thought I'd put a reference to an article I just wrote on my site.
http://www.luzcannon.com/article/18/today-national-geographic-called
Yeah, the title says it all, National Geographic called...
Anyway, things are going well here, just finishing my semester and all that. I just did a presentation in my doctoral level course on leadership theory. It went pretty well and I think it was well received. I have never presented to a doctoral level audience before which of course made me a little nervous. I got through it though.
And, if you like Martial Arts movies I highly suggest Ong Bak. There is some crazy action in that movie, I've never seen anything quite like it. I reccomend it for a movie filled with solid action. Watch it in the original Thai language or else you'll probably hate it. Plus you lose the effect of the guy using one of those devices people who have smoked too much use after they don't have a voice... in Thai.
Hope all is going well for you all. Talk with you all soon.

| I'm going to try not to let this go to my head... Funny, I always thought of myself as more like Jack Sparrow and less like Neo... Jack only got a 79% compared to my Neo rating of 83%. Odd... | You scored as Neo, the "One". Neo is the computer hacker-turned-Messiah of the Matrix. He leads a small group of human rebels against the technology that controls them. Neo doubts his ability to lead but doesn't want to disappoint his friends. His goal is for a world where all men know the Truth and are free from the bonds of the Matrix.
Neo, the "One" | | 83% | Captain Jack Sparrow | | 79% | Batman, the Dark Knight | | 75% | James Bond, Agent 007 | | 67% | Lara Croft | | 63% | El Zorro | | 58% | The Terminator | | 54% | The Amazing Spider-Man | | 54% | Indiana Jones | | 54% | William Wallace | | 46% | Maximus | | 42% |

| Just so you all know, I'm updating my website www.luzcannon.com a
little more often than I am my Xanga account. My plan is to keep
this page active so I can comment on the pages of other's and still
have a part in this community. At the same time I'm writing a bit
more over there because there's a potential to reach a bigger audience
with my writing and freelance design/audio/photography/video
stuff. Plus, you can still come over there and comment on
my posts. Also, don't worry about having to put your email
address in the comment box, nobody else can read that, it's just for
recognition purposes.
In any event, feel free to check out my posting at my website. I
really do want all of you to be a part of my life, I don't want you to
see this as an abandoning of friends or anything. Hope you all
are doing well.

| Well, I should probably point out that things have been changing in the
past few months. Any of you that know me and have talked with me
in the past while have probably realized that I have had a girlfriend
for some time now. Well... Kerry and I are no longer boyfriend
and girlfriend... We're engaged. I'm pretty hyped about that and
me thinks that she is also.
I wanted to wait a little bit before posting on my Xanga about it so
that I would have time to tell people in person when possible.
However, that's not always possible and I feel bad that I can't contact
everyone and tell them before the news hits them from someone
else. So, this is my attempt to let everyone know that I'm
engaged. Sorry for the impersonal nature of this post.
Also, I should add that only a few people at my church know about the
engagement so far. So, I'm hoping to keep this a secret for a
little while longer anyway until I can get back and tell everyone in
person. I don't think too many of them actually read my Xanga,
only 3 that I can think of... So, I'd like to keep the news down until
after Thanksgiving, if at all possible.
I should mention my new website, since it's a growing part of my life
as well. www.luzcannon.com. I just wrote a new article on
there, www.luzcannon.com/article/13/saving-the-world-one-bottle-of-water-at-a-time Feel free to check out the site and leave a comment.
Anyway, hope everything is going well for everyone. Until the next post.

Well, I was sitting in my room on friday night,
thinking that I was going to experience another dull weekend.
Then, suddenly, there was a knock at my door. It was an odd
knock, I knew it wasn’t one of the normal people who knock on my
door. As it turns out, it was Kerry.
I was pretty surprised, I think my first words were
“oh my gosh.” However, my first thoughts were something like, “you’re
not on your way back to the dorm from getting food.” It was
actual confusion, not accusation. I seriously couldn’t put the
two together in my head, that she wasn’t in Indiana or that she was
supposed to be.
Friday night went quickly. We went to
Applebees and talked for a bit. I think we were both in so much
shock that everything is really quite a blur. I don’t remember
conversations or anything, just the fact that I kept thinking about how
she was really there... She was shaking from adrenaline for an
hour or so.
Saturday was cool, we went up to the mall and hung
out there for awhile. Spent time talking about things and then
took another photo shoot. During the evening we went to Bella
Notte. (I’m pretty sure spelled that wrong but it’s 1 in the morning
and I don’t really speak or write Italian very well.) I’d
recommend the restaurant to anyone.
Sunday was pretty relaxed. Eventually I drove
Kerry to Elizabethtown where she met her friend from school. She
went on her way to Indiana and I went on my way back to school.
It would have been a harder goodbye if I didn’t know that I’d see her
in about 3 - 4 days. Really, this one wasn’t that bad
comparatively.
So, I should probably say thank you, Kerry, for the
surprise. Also, thank you to Abby (sorry if I spelled your name
wrong) for bringing Kerry down to KY and then to Wayne for picking her
up from E-town in the first place. Thank you all, it made my
weekend. Anyway, I should probably get some sleep, I should work
in the morning... | | |
